Koinpark Introduces a New Fee Model: What Traders Need to Know

At Koinpark, we’re always looking for ways to make your trading journey smoother, smarter, and more transparent. That’s why we’re introducing a new update to how trading fees are charged across all markets, such as INR, USDT, ETH, and BTC.

Understanding Base and Quote Currency

Before getting into the update, let’s quickly clarify two key trading terms:

1. Base Currency: The first currency in a trading pair — it’s the asset you’re buying or selling.

Example: In BTC/INR, BTC is the base currency.

2. Quote Currency: The second currency in the pair — it’s the asset you use to value or price the base currency.

Example: In BTC/INR, INR is the quote currency.

Simply put, when you see BTC/INR trading at 120,000, it means 1 BTC = 120,000 INR.

What’s Changing

Previously, Koinpark charged fees from the base currency. That is, the cryptocurrency you were buying in a trade.

For example:

• In BTC/USDT, the fee was taken in BTC.
• In ETH/INR, the fee was taken in ETH.

Now, we’re moving to a quote-based fee system, which means trading fees will be charged from the quote currency, the second currency in the trading pair.

This change makes transactions more efficient, transparent, and easier to track.

New Fee Structure: Simple and Smarter

Here’s how fees will now be charged:

BTC/ETH	ETH
XRP/BTC	BTC
ETH/INR	INR

ETH/USDT	USDT

How It Works

• When you trade BTC/USDT, fees will now be deducted from USDT (the quote currency).
• When you trade BTC/ETH, fees will be taken in ETH.
• When you trade ETH/INR, fees will be charged in INR.
• When you trade ETH/USDT, fees will be charged in USDT.

This applies across all crypto markets — INR, USDT, ETH, and BTC.
