President Donald Trump's newest financial disclosure has confirmed what many in the crypto world suspected: digital assets have become his single biggest source of personal income. According to the 927-page filing submitted to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, Trump reported making $636 million in royalties from CIC Digital, LLC, the company behind his $TRUMP crypto token, which he launched just three days before starting his second term.
This is a major shift for a businessman long associated with hotels, golf resorts, and skyscrapers. For the first time, crypto earnings have overtaken real estate as his top money-maker.
The numbers are striking. Trump reported more than $1.4 billion in cryptocurrency-related income for 2025, making digital assets the largest source of his personal earnings during his second term. Breaking it down further, he earned over $500 million from World Liberty Financial, the crypto company he co-founded in 2024 with his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., along with another $635 million tied to sales of the $TRUMP meme coin.
Interestingly, the meme coin's journey has been a rollercoaster. It hit a peak value shortly after launch, but its price has since fallen roughly 98% from that high point. Even with that drop, the royalty structure meant massive income kept flowing in.
Trump's traditional properties haven't gone quiet, they just aren't leading anymore. He earned $122 million from Trump Doral, $77.5 million from Mar-a-Lago, and $39 million from Trump Tower Chicago in 2025. Other resorts and clubs across Florida, New Jersey, and Scotland added tens of millions more.
Compared to the crypto totals, though, real estate now looks like the smaller half of the business empire, a reversal from decades of Trump's brand being built almost entirely on property.
Beyond crypto and real estate, the disclosure reveals other income streams too. Trump reported more than $80 million from legal settlements with media companies including ABC, CBS, Meta, YouTube, and X, plus at least $8.3 million in royalties from books and branded merchandise.
Taken together, the filing paints a picture of a rapidly diversifying income portfolio, one where digital assets now sit right at the center.
This disclosure is more than just a headline about one person's wealth. It signals how deeply cryptocurrency has moved into mainstream finance and politics. Analysts have estimated the Trump family's crypto-related ventures have generated at least $2.3 billion in profits since his return to office, a scale that would have seemed unthinkable for a political figure just a few years ago.
For everyday investors, it's another reminder of how quickly the digital asset space is growing, and why staying informed matters.
Platforms offering access to a wide range of cryptocurrencies make it easier than ever to explore this shifting financial landscape.
